Code Shells is a subscription service operated by Guided Data Engines ("we", "us"), giving subscribers access to a library of software modules ("shells") for the duration of an active subscription.
We offer Session (daily), Basic (monthly, with an initial trial period), and Enterprise (annual) plans. Charges recur automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled first. Billing is processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
You may cancel anytime from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals — access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. All charges are final once billed: we do not offer partial-period or pro-rated refunds.
Each shell you download is licensed to you under the MIT License (included with the shell) from the moment of download. That license is permanent — it doesn't depend on keeping an active subscription, and it isn't revoked if you cancel or if your account is later closed.
Downloading itself is metered, independent of which plan you're on: after downloading 5 shells without a payment method on file, further downloads are paused until you add a card to your account. This applies during Basic's trial as well — the trial waives the charge, not this limit.
Affiliates earn a commission on subscriptions attributed to their referral link, for as long as the referred subscription remains active, subject to the commission terms in effect at the time each payment is collected. We reserve the right to suspend an affiliate account for fraudulent referral activity.
This section governs use of the Code Shells service itself, separately from what the MIT license in Section 4 already permits you to do with shells once downloaded. You agree not to: share or resell your account's login access; run automated scraping of the catalog beyond ordinary browsing; or abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent rate limits on the API.
Shells are provided under the MIT License, which disclaims warranties for the code itself ("AS IS", without warranty of any kind). The Code Shells service (the website, accounts, billing, and catalog access) is likewise provided as-is, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Pennsylvania.
